Why choose
Quick to Hang: The eyelet heading slides directly onto a curtain pole, making it one of the simplest ready-made blockout curtain styles to install.
Room-Darkening Comfort: Helps reduce glare and outside brightness, making bedrooms, guest rooms and living spaces feel calmer.
Better Privacy: A practical option where you want more coverage at the window than a sheer or light-filtering curtain can provide.
Soft Woven Texture: The woven face gives the curtain a more considered finish than a flat plain blockout fabric.
Light Neutral Finish: Misty and Champagne suit softer rooms that need privacy and blockout function without a visually heavy curtain colour.
Easy-Care Polyester: The 100% polyester fabric with silicone coating is made for practical home and hospitality use.
Ready-Made Practicality: Useful for guest rooms, lodges, rentals and fast multi-room replacements without custom lead times.
Two Length Options: Choose standard length or extra length depending on the window height and finished drop required.
Ideal uses
Bedrooms: Ideal where you want reduced light, stronger privacy and a more restful room finish.
Guest Rooms and Hospitality Spaces: Practical for guesthouses, lodges, serviced apartments and Airbnb rooms that need consistent, easy-to-repeat window coverage.
Living Rooms: Useful for reducing glare, improving privacy and giving the window a clean, finished look.
TV Rooms and Media Spaces: Helps reduce bright daylight and screen glare when a darker, more controlled room is needed.
Light Neutral Interiors: Misty and Champagne work well where the window needs a softer blockout finish rather than a dark or heavy curtain tone.
Layered Window Treatments: Can be paired with sheers where you want daytime softness and stronger evening privacy.
Care guide
Follow the Care Label First: Curtain fabrics and coatings can vary by batch, so always use the sewn-in care label as the final care instruction.
Cold Delicate Wash: Wash separately or with similar colours on a cold delicate cycle using a mild detergent.
No Bleach: Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals and aggressive stain treatments, especially on coated blockout fabrics.
Protect the Eyelets: Do not pull, wring or roughly handle the heading. Protect the eyelet area during washing and drying.
Dry Flat in Shade: Dry flat in shade and avoid high heat, tumble drying and long periods in harsh direct sun.
Store Clean and Dry: Make sure the curtain is fully dry before hanging in a closed-up room or storing.
Eyelet: Best for a curtain pole and a clean, modern fold.
Uses a Pole: Slides directly onto a curtain pole for easy hanging.
Visible Eyelets: The eyelets become part of the finished curtain look.
Soft Wave-Style Drop: Creates a relaxed, even fold with minimal effort.
Taped: Best for hooks, rings or tracks with a classic gathered finish.
Uses Hooks or Track Gliders: Works well where a curtain track or hook system is already installed.
Gathered Taped Heading: Creates a softer, more traditional curtain top.
Flexible Fullness Control: Heading tape can be adjusted to change the gathered look.
Measure your hanging point, full pole or track width and finished drop, then calculate fullness and quantity using the listed width for your chosen curtain.
For a simple look use less fullness; sheers often look best near 2× fullness. If you are unsure, contact us with your pole or track width and required drop before ordering.
Use Obscura blockout curtains in bedrooms, lounges, guest rooms and rental spaces where privacy, reduced light and a soft woven neutral finish matter.
The blockout fabric helps reduce light and improve privacy. Some light may still come in around the sides, top or bottom depending on how the curtain is installed.
This eyelet style slides directly onto a curtain pole or rod. Measure from the top of your pole to where you want the curtain to finish, then choose Standard Length - 220cm or Extra Length - 250cm.
