HOTEL QUALITY BED, BATH AND HOME NATIONWIDE DELIVERY

Policy

Returns and Refunds Policy

Most Linen and Co products are made to your confirmed specification, so we do not accept change-of-mind returns on them. We put right genuine manufacturing faults, damage in transit and our own errors. Report a problem as soon as your order arrives, ideally within 5 days, and within 48 hours for visible delivery damage.

Made to order, so check before you pay

We are a linen manufacturer, and most of what we sell is made to a customer specification: custom sizes, mattress convertors, embroidery, satin stitch, personalised and specially sourced items. You receive a detailed description, and often a written quotation, before you pay, and production starts once payment is confirmed. Please check sizes, colours, quantities, fabric and artwork carefully first. Made-to-order, custom and personalised items cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded once production has started, unless there is a verified fault or a Linen and Co error. This includes items that a supplier makes to order for us on your behalf, such as blinds. Every product page says whether the product is Made to order or Ready stock, so you can see which applies before you buy.

How to report a problem

  • Inspect your order as soon as it arrives and check it against your order confirmation or quotation.
  • Report any fault, damage, shortage or wrong item as soon as possible, ideally within 5 days of delivery. Visible damage to the parcels should be reported within 48 hours where possible, and please photograph the parcel before opening it.
  • Email info@linenco.co.za with your order number, the delivery date, a clear description, and photographs of the product, the packaging and the problem.
  • Please do not send anything back before we have agreed it. Unauthorised returns may be refused.

What we put right

We will repair, replace, credit or refund, depending on the problem and the product, where:

  • the product has a verified manufacturing fault;
  • the product was damaged before or during delivery by a courier we arranged;
  • the product is materially different from the confirmed order, for example the wrong size, colour or specification; or
  • Linen and Co made an error with your order.

What is not a fault

We describe every product, its fabric and its care in detail, and our care guides explain how to wash and dry it. These are not manufacturing faults:

  • Shrinkage, creasing, fading, pilling or a changed fit because the product was washed, tumble dried or ironed against its care label. Cotton shrinks if it is tumble dried hot, and a size that fitted before washing may not fit after.
  • Normal wear and tear, including wear from heavy commercial laundering. A product washed many times a day in a busy property will wear out sooner than one in a home.
  • The natural feel of the fabric as described: cotton percale is crisp and cool, and polycotton percale is smooth and quick drying.
  • Choosing the wrong size, colour or fabric, or measuring incorrectly.
  • Damage from misuse, bleach, chemicals, heat, sun exposure or incorrect installation.
  • Minor tolerances in measurements, shade and finish, and colour differences between a screen and the product.

Hygiene-sensitive items

For health and hygiene reasons we cannot take back bedding, pillows, duvet inners, mattress and pillow protectors, towels, bath mats, bathrobes, table linen and similar items that have been used, slept on, washed, marked, scented, altered or removed from protective packaging, unless the problem is a verified fault that was present before use.

Change of mind and your legal rights

We do not accept returns for change of mind, an incorrect selection or duplicate orders on made-to-order, custom, personalised or hygiene-sensitive products. The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act gives a private individual who buys goods online a short cooling-off period, but it does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, to goods that by their nature cannot be returned, or to purchases made by a business. Where it does apply to a ready-stock item, you must tell us in writing within 7 days of receiving it, you pay the cost of sending it back, and the item must come back unused, unwashed, undamaged and in its original packaging with all labels. We refund once we have received and checked it.

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act. For customers who buy as a business that the Consumer Protection Act does not cover, this policy and your written quotation set out our agreement.

Inspection, refunds and costs

  • Returned items are inspected before an outcome is confirmed. We may decline a return that has been used, washed, damaged after delivery or altered.
  • Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 7 business days of approval, and we try to do it sooner. Your bank may take longer to show it.
  • If the return is due to a Linen and Co error or a verified fault, we arrange or cover reasonable return courier costs. If we approve a return for any other reason, the customer pays the return courier and packs the goods securely.
  • Original delivery charges are not refunded unless the problem was our error or a verified fault.

Bulk and trade orders

Bulk, trade and reseller orders follow the same policy as every other order. Because they are made to specification, we ask trade customers to check quotations carefully and report any shortage, damage or error promptly after delivery.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Can I return something because I changed my mind?

Not on made-to-order, custom, personalised or hygiene-sensitive items, or on business purchases. The law gives a private individual a short cooling-off right on some ready-stock goods bought online, with conditions set out in this policy.

How soon must I report a problem?

As soon as your order arrives, ideally within 5 days of delivery, and within 48 hours for visible delivery damage where possible. The sooner you tell us, the sooner we can check it against our records and the courier record.

My cotton sheet shrank in the wash. Is that a fault?

No. Cotton shrinks when it is washed or tumble dried hotter than the care label allows. Please follow the care instructions on the product page and in our care guides.

How long do refunds take?

Approved refunds are paid to your original payment method within 7 business days of approval, and we try to do it sooner. Your bank may take a little longer to show it.

Do trade and bulk customers have different return rules?

No. Bulk, trade and reseller orders follow the same policy as every other order, so please check quotations carefully and report any shortage, damage or error promptly after delivery.
