Description

Whittaker Sheer Ready-Made Taped Curtain

Light Filtering · Textured Sheer · Ready-Made

Light-Filtering Sheer Curtain: A ready-made sheer curtain designed to soften bright daylight, add gentle daytime privacy and keep the room feeling open, calm and airy.

Soft Textured Finish: Whittaker has a refined sheer look with visible texture, giving the window more interest than a plain voile while still staying light and easy to style.

Neutral Colour Palette: Available in White and Sand, the range works with crisp interiors, warm neutrals, natural wood, coastal styling and soft layered bedroom schemes.

Ready-Made Convenience: A practical curtain drop for fast room updates, with standard and extra-length options so the same look can be used across different windows and room types.

Taped Heading: A classic curtain-tape heading designed for hooks, rings or compatible tracks, giving a softer gathered finish with adjustable fullness.

Why Choose

Whittaker Sheer Ready-Made Taped Curtain

  • Classic Gathered Finish: The taped heading creates a more traditional gathered look with a softer, fuller fall at the top of the curtain.
  • Track and Hook Friendly: Designed for curtain hooks, rings or compatible tracks, giving more flexibility where a pole is not being used.
  • Adjustable Fullness: The tape allows the heading to be gathered to suit the window and the look you want.
  • Softens Bright Rooms: Filters glare and direct daylight while still keeping the space naturally lit and breathable.
  • Adds Daytime Privacy: Helps soften the view into the room during the day without closing off the window completely.
  • Simple Neutral Styling: White and Sand are easy to pair with bedding, rugs, timber furniture, painted walls and relaxed natural interiors.
  • Texture Without Heaviness: The sheer fabric adds movement and softness without the visual weight of a lined curtain.
  • Ready-Made Practicality: A simple way to update windows without custom lead times, especially useful when styling several rooms at once.
  • Works Across the Home: Soft enough for bedrooms but polished enough for lounges, guest rooms, apartments and hospitality spaces.

Care Guide

Caring For Your Whittaker Sheer Ready-Made Taped Curtain

  • Follow the Care Label First: Curtain fabrics and headings can vary by batch, so always use the sewn-in care label as the final care instruction.
  • Gentle Cleaning: Use a gentle cycle or hand wash where suitable, with mild detergent and similar colours. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
  • Remove Hooks Before Washing: Always remove hooks, rings or track gliders before washing to protect the heading tape and fabric.
  • Protect the Heading: Do not pull, wring or stretch the taped heading. Smooth the heading back into place while drying.
  • Dry Naturally: Line dry or hang to dry where possible. Avoid high heat, over-drying and long periods in harsh direct sun.
  • Reduce Creasing: Hang promptly after washing and smooth the fabric into place. Use low steam or a cool iron only if the care label allows.

How To Measure

How to Measure — Ready-Made Curtains

Measure your hanging point, full pole or track width and finished drop, then calculate fullness and quantity using the listed width for your chosen curtain.

Choose your hanging point
1

Choose your hanging point

  • For eyelet curtains, measure from the top of the curtain pole.
  • For taped curtains, measure from the track or hook position.
  • Use the correct hanging point before measuring the finished drop.
Measure the pole or track width
2

Measure the pole or track width

  • Measure the complete pole or track from end to end.
  • Keep the tape level and straight.
  • Record the total fitting width in centimetres.
Measure the finished drop
3

Measure the finished drop

  • Measure straight down from the correct hanging point to your desired finish.
  • Standard Length is 220 cm.
  • Extra Length is 250 cm.
  • Choose the available drop closest to your required finish.
Calculate fullness and quantity
4

Calculate fullness and quantity

  • Multiply the total pole or track width by 1.5 to 2 for the required fabric width.
  • Check the listed width per curtain because widths vary across the range.
  • Divide the required fabric width by the listed width per curtain and round up to a whole number of curtains.

For a simple look use less fullness; sheers often look best near 2× fullness. If you are unsure, contact us with your pole or track width and required drop before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Are these curtains good for privacy?

A: They softly filter daylight and add daytime privacy. Because they are sheer, they will not block light and may be see-through at night when interior lights are on.

Q: How does the taped heading work?

A: The taped heading is designed to gather with curtain hooks and can be used on a curtain track or a pole with rings. Measure from your track or ring position to your desired finish, then choose Standard Length - 220cm or Extra Length - 250cm.
