Why a good fit matters

A fitted sheet that is too tight pulls at the corners, and one that is too loose bunches and slips. A duvet cover that is too small leaves the inner bunched up, and a tablecloth that is the wrong size hangs unevenly. Because we manufacture to order, we can cut linen to the size you need rather than making you choose the nearest standard one.

How to measure a mattress

• Length: measure from the head of the mattress to the foot.
• Width: measure from side to side.
• Depth: measure the height of the mattress at its edge. This is the most important measurement for a fitted sheet, so include any topper that stays on the bed.
• Measure the mattress itself, not the bed frame, and measure twice.

What can be made to size

We offer custom sizing on most of our products, including fitted sheets, flat sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases, and table linen to fit your tables. Custom items are made to order, so they cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded once production has started, unless there is a verified fault or a Linen and Co error. That is why we ask for careful measurements and confirm every detail with you first. Common reasons for a custom size

Guesthouses and lodges often have a mix of beds, including bunk, split or extra-long beds, and older properties may have mattresses that fit no standard size. Decorators fit linen to bespoke bed frames, and some customers have deep mattresses with a topper that standard fitted sheets cannot cover. Restaurants and venues need cloths to match unusual tables. If you are not sure whether your measurements are standard, send them and we will tell you, so you only pay for custom work when you need it.

What to send us

• The product and fabric you want, and the colour.
• Your measurements in centimetres, and the quantity.
• For table linen, the table shape and the drop you want.
• Photos of the bed or table if it helps, and the date you need the order.

Timing and quotations

Made-to-order items usually take 7 to 14 business days before dispatch, with courier time added after that. Made-to-size tablecloths are priced as you choose the size; for everything else we reply with a personalised quotation, and trade accounts can request a quotation that holds its prices for seven days. Payment is in full before production begins.
