Identify the Duvet Inner Size

Confirm the bed size first.
Lay the duvet inner completely flat on a clean surface.
Measure the inner itself rather than relying on an old cover.

Measure the Inner Width

Smooth the duvet inner without stretching it.
Measure side to side across the widest point.
Record the width in centimetres.

Measure Length and Check Overhang

Measure the duvet inner from the top edge to the bottom edge.
Check the overhang at both sides and the foot of the bed.
Choose an inner size that creates a full, balanced bed finish.

Match the Cover to the Inner

Compare the measured inner width and length to the Linen & Co size guide.
Select a duvet cover with the same width and length.
An exact match helps prevent shifting, bunching and strain on seams or closures.

The duvet inner determines the coverage and overhang on the bed. The duvet cover should then match the inner dimensions: a cover that is too large can allow shifting, while a cover that is too small can compress the inner and pull at seams or closures.
