How to Correctly Measure for Blinds
Check Window Frame Depth
Before measuring width and height, ensure your window frame has enough depth to accommodate the blind’s mounting brackets and mechanism. Depth requirements vary by blind type, so if you are unsure, please contact us before ordering.
Measure Width
Use a steel tape measure for accuracy. Measure the inside width of the window recess at three points: top, middle, and bottom. Use the smallest measurement to ensure your blind fits neatly inside the frame without rubbing.
Measure Height (Drop)
Measure the inside height of the window recess at three points: left, centre, and right. Use the longest measurement to ensure full coverage. Measure from the top inside edge of the recess down to the sill (or the point where you want the blind to finish).
Important Clearances
Check for obstructions such as window handles, locks, and vents. For Venetian blinds, allow clearance for slat tilt and lift. For Roller and Zebra blinds, ensure the bracket position will not interfere with hardware or restrict operation.
Final Notes
- Measure in millimetres for the most accurate fit.
- Do not assume your window is perfectly square — always measure at three points.
- If your measurements differ significantly, please contact us before placing your order.

Helpful Tip
If you are ordering multiple blinds, label each window and record measurements per room to avoid mix-ups during installation.
